Bonding & Relining Service

Saftek’s brake shoe and clutch plate bonding and re-lining service is available from our factory in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. We provide fast turnaround and a UK wide collection and delivery service.

With 100 years combined experience of specialist re-lining we provide a high quality service using our range of non-asbestos materials.  We strip off  the old material from your brake shoes and clutch plates, and bond and/or rivet  new material to suit your application.  Oversized thickness linings and drum skimming are available.  ‘Soft’ or ‘hard’ grade materials may be specified depending on the application required.

Brake and Clutch Relining for Classic Vehicles

Non-asbestos Brake and Clutch Materials

A unique range of materials to satisfy the demands of all vintage & classic car, motorcycle and commercial vehicle enthusiasts. 

Our non-asbestos brake and clutch linings are widely used in the vintage and classic fields, replacing originally specified asbestos based materials. The Standard and Premium grades use the latest material formulation technology to reproduce and improve upon the original outdated materials.  As as result you’ll get better performance but without the health or environmental issues of asbestos linings.

Our Classic Vehicle Clutch Lining Material Range

We reline wet or dry clutch plates and assemblies using non-asbestos material. Your original friction plate inserts are replaced with full bonded friction rings and these can be finished to modified thicknesses.

Our Classic Vehicle Brake Lining Material Range

Standard Duty – Relatively soft with quick bedding in feature giving medium to high friction suitable for normal road use.

Premium Duty – A tougher material for heavier duty road use, touring and some race applications.  Bonded or riveted.

Woven – Non-asbestos friction material which has the same woven look as the original.  Perfect for concourse style restorations.

Competition – a rigid moulded lining to replace your asbestos AM4.
